Ok well first off Glycerine is described as tasting sweet. Pretty much the way I see it is this song is a contradiction and story of a bittersweet love. Each verse a new contradiction appears. The first lines say "It must be your skin cause I'm sinking in, it must be for real cause now I can feel" Glycerine attracts water very well. If left on the skin it will soak into it with in a short period of time. "I treated you bad, You bruised my face, Couldn't love you more. You've got a beautiful taste" Its a destructive relationship. He wants her but she doesn't really want him but they stay in the relationship anyways. No they are both hurt "I could have been easier on you, Couldn't change if I wanted to" He is stuck with her. "Could have been easier by 3, our old friend fear,you and me" I see this as saying if they wouldn't have got into the relationship and fell in love like they knew they shouldn't have in the first place then they would saved themselves the hurt and the fear of change. "I needed you more when you wanted us less" He the relationship failed because he got what he wanted and realized the only reason he wanted her before was because he could not have her and at one point that changed and now hes stuck. Gavin Rossdale Bush's lead singer said he wrote this about his girlfriend, but he didn't say more then that because he enjoys the idea of interpreting it for yourself. And so I did..
